Stonington, Conn. — The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to strengthening the Coast Guard community and service by supporting members and families, announced today that it will hold its annual Heroes of the Coast Guard broadcast on Wednesday, September 14 at 8 p.m. Eastern. An encore presentation will broadcast at 8 p.m. Pacific for viewers on the West Coast, Hawaii and Alaska. The event will be streamed live on Facebook, YouTube, and the Foundation’s website at coastguardfoundation.org/heroesbroadcast.
The broadcast will feature electrifying rescues, daring law enforcement, and touching family moments at Coast Guard locations from Alaska to Cape Cod and from San Diego to Ft. Lauderdale. The broadcast is free to watch. Interested viewers can RSVP on the Facebook event or by clicking on “notify me” on YouTube. Those who want to spread the word about the Foundation’s work and its importance are encouraged to invite friends and family to form watch parties and learn more about the Coast Guard and the Foundation.
“The Coast Guard’s missions are important and thrilling, and many people never have a chance to see the incredible work of Coast Guard members in action,” said Susan Ludwig, Coast Guard Foundation President. “We are proud to present a glimpse of what these brave individuals do to viewers worldwide for a second year. We hope you will join us.”
Last year’s broadcast drew viewers from all over the United States as well as international locations across Europe, South Korea and Taiwan. The 2021 broadcast was structured as a live online fundraiser due to the pandemic, but this year’s Heroes of the Coast Guard will be an action-filled news show taking you to locations around the country to showcase the work of Coast Guard members, as well as the ways the Coast Guard Foundation community supports them and their families.
