Free Youth Fishing Derby at El Dorado Park

LONG BEACH – El Dorado Park, a City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation, and Marine facility located at 7550. East Spring St, Long Beach, CA 90815, will host a youth fishing derby on Saturday, November 19th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm.
This activity is designed to give boys and girls who live in urban areas an opportunity to enjoy a fishing experience in or close to their own neighborhood. The lake will be stocked with catfish for the derby. Everything for the kids is free.
Event day onsite registration will begin at 8:00 am, the fishing session will go from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 PM, followed by a congratulatory ceremony and drawing.
The City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation, and Marine is presenting the event together with the Daniel Hernandez Youth Foundation and the California Dept of Fish & Wildlife, “Fishing In The City” Program. Kids will be provided with loner rods & reels, tackle, and bait for those who don’t have their own, as well as assistance for those who need it.
