60 GoPro Athletes + Advocates Will Use the All-New HERO9 Black + Max Lens Mod in a ‘Choose Your Adventure’ Virtual Event
To coincide with the recent launch of the all-new HERO9 Black, GoPro is hosting its annual Creator Summit virtually in a “Choose Your Adventure” style. The event kicked off yesterday and will run through the weekend, ending on Oct. 4, and hosts 60 GoPro content creators representing seven regions around the world. The kicker is that GoPro is funding each content creator’s adventure – skydiving, BASE jumping, camping, surfing, fishing, adventuring, the sky’s the limit to do whatever adventure they choose. Throughout the event, GoPro will also be hosting series of content challenges and award $20K USD through GoPro Awards to the top content from the event.
In years past, GoPro hosted the Creator Summit by inviting top content creators, including official athletes and ambassadors, to one epic location – like Banff, Canada, and Broome, Australia – to further their GoPro skills, learn more about the products and create lots of content as a group. This year, the Creator Summit timing aligned with the HERO9 launch; however, it also landed in 2020, which means the current landscape of social distancing and precautions does not allow for gathering like previous years, but GoPro is determined to celebrate the GoPro Family and teach them more about HERO9 in a manner only GoPro can. So, starting yesterday, the 2020 Creator Summit kicked off virtually.
2020 GoPro Creator Summit content creators include athletes from Olympic Snowboarder Jamie Anderson and outdoor adventurer Sebastian Schieren to freestyle mountain biker Sam Pilgrim and kayaker Rafa Ortiz (and dozens more surfers, bikers, skiers and skaters in between). Follow their adventures all weekend on Instagram using #GoProCreatorSummit and #GoProHERO9. Anyone can follow along on social media by using the tags #GoProCreatorSummit and #GoProHERO9.
HERO9 Black – featuring “more everything” – includes a new sensor that delivers 5K video and 20 megapixel photos, next-generation Hypersmooth 3.0 video stabilization with in-camera horizon leveling, a new front-facing display, a larger rear display, 30 percent more battery life, and a Max Lens Mod accessory that brings Max HyperSmooth video stabilization and Max SuperView ultra wide-angle photos and video. GoPro also recently introduce a new line of lifestyle gear, including apparel, bags and accessories that are a large part of keeping Creator Summit participants organized – with gear ready — throughout the event.
