SPRING WALLEYE TIPS ON GREEN BAY
We traveled out to Green Bay this past week and fished out of Marinette and Oconto and still found fish in pre-spawn. Water temps were just starting to get into the low forties. Found a good number of fish in less than ten feet of water. The key seemed to be stained water and warmer water. We drove around and looked a lot with side imaging before we fished.
Guide Brett Alexander shares some great tips on this week’s video. The Northland Deep Vee Hair Jigs stole the show and we caught most of the fish on a stinger hook. Hair jigs are so deadly in early spring. Not all hair jigs are equal but the key is the right dart and glide with the right amount of hair. Most jigs are actually tied with too much hair. Thin the hair and add the stinger! The Deep Vee Hair Jigs are perfect. When these early spring walleye nip at the hair, the stinger gets them. Most of the fish we caught on this video came on the stinger.
