Professional Anglers Raise $50K for Future Anglers

Forestville, WI -The National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) has a strong tradition in supporting new anglers of all kinds, whether youth, adult, or those re-introduced to the sport. Through proceedings that aid student anglers at their annual conference, to backing for existing members to host educational clinics for all anglers, the NPAA is a leader in recruitment of new anglers nationwide.
Perhaps the most influential of all such activities, is the annual Future Anglers Foundation (FAF) banquet held at each NPAA conference like the one this past January 4th, 2020. At the 8th Annual FAF Benefit and Banquet, over 250 attendees placed silent and live auction bids on the industry’s finest gear, and rarest opportunities. From signed tournament journeys by legendary anglers, to guide trips from media moguls who don’t usually offer them, tens of thousands of dollars in donated items were available for bid. At the end of the night, after the James and Rosanne Keller Foundation donated an additional $15,000 to the banquet proceedings, the grand total was a record $50,000 raised utilize in 2020 for FAF programs.
The FAF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in April of 2012 by a group of anglers dedicated to help grow the sport of fishing through education and outreach. The FAF’s mission is to support efforts of individuals and organizations that are willing to share their passion for the sport through education and outreach, in short to “Create New Anglers”. The FAF specifically supports volunteers who host events with gear, and has developed programs to bring angling into the classroom through their “Getting Families Fishing” initiative.
