TREVALA PX JIGGING RODS OFFER MORE STRENGTH AND CONTROL WITH HIGH-POWER X BLANK CONSTRUCTION
LADSON, S.C. – ICAST 2020 INTRODUCTION – Available August ‘20 – When the Butterfly jigging technique hit the saltwater fishing scene more than a decade ago, anglers counted on the Trevala jigging rods for success in both shallow and deeper water situations. With Shimano’s continual drive for innovation, the new Trevala PX rods are now redesigned with Hi-Power X blank technology to provide anglers with increased overall strength and enhanced jigging and fish-fighting control. The Trevala PX series includes 14 casting and 14 spinning rods in lengths, powers and actions to fish PowerPro braid as light 20-pound test and XX-heavy rods for species and depths calling for fishing with 100-pound test.
Shimano’s Hi-Power X construction provides rod twist resistance, providing anglers with better rod control when jigging, and more importantly, when hooked into a big grouper or snapper. Hi-Power X is a unique process to support the lighter weight blanks – another advantage of the blank design, with carbon tape added in a 45-dgreee ‘X’ pattern on the outside of the blank. The tape process provides what is called ‘torsional rigidity’ to keep the blank from twisting when jigging and fighting a fish, plus the Trevala PX rods offer the added bonus of their crossover capability fishing live bait and lures.
“This next generation engineering on the Trevala PX not only increases jigging action with the angler being in control,” notes Tristin Poole with Shimano’s product development team, ‘they will also appreciate the lighter, more sensitive rod for all-day fishing comfort.”
Further contributing to the overall lighter weight, Shimano features its CI4+ carbon-infused reel seats on the split-grip light, medium-light, medium and medium-heavy power Trevala PX casting and spinning rods. Full-grip casting and spinning rods in medium, medium-heavy and heavy power are offered in either Fuji TCS trigger or DPSH standard pipe reel seats. All the 5-foot-8-inch heavy, extra-heavy and XX-heavy casting and spinning rod feature Fuji ‘palming support system’ PSS trigger grips. All 28 Trevala PX rods come with durable Sea•Guide precision rod guides.
“Whether you’re targeting shallower species down to 150-feet or itching to hook-up with a goliath grouper down to 300 feet and beyond, you’ll appreciate the lightweight and sensitivity you’ll have in all these situations,” said Poole.
