Alabama Champion Bass Angler Darien Craig Joins Southern Sports Group

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., December 18, 2012-Southern Sports Group (SSG), a sports marketing and event management firm, today announced its sponsorship of budding professional bass angler and Alabama State Champion, Darien Craig. Craig will also assume a Pro Staff position and contribute to the SSG Fishing Development Team.
“We are excited to bring Darien Craig onboard to help us grow our presence and opportunities in the sport of professional and amateur fishing. Darien’s character, passion for his sport, and knowledge of the industry makes him a valuable addition to our team,” said Southern Sports Group President, Sandy Thompson.
Darien Craig has won numerous event titles and sponsorships in the sport of bass fishing over the past four years. A graduate of Hayden High School (Alabama), Craig started the school’s first fishing team and led them to state championships in 2011 and 2012. Craig is currently working on a degree in business marketing at Jefferson State Community College while fishing professionally. At Southern Sports Group, Craig will contribute to the firm’s amateur high school and college fishing tournament team. Southern Sports Group will also now be Craig’s featured sponsor at his professional tournaments.
