The 99-angler field left Veterans Freedom Park this morning as Day One of competition on the Mississippi River got underway.

Many of the anglers we talked with this morning felt confident about their day and what they are seeing in their first trip to Wisconsin. Edwin Evers said he wasn’t getting a lot of bites but the ones he is getting are better quality.
