BoatU.S. Foundation Joins PAA as Associate Sponsor

BENTON, Ky. (June 16, 2010) – The BoatU.S. Foundation has joined the Professional Anglers Association as an Associate Sponsor to help provide PAA members and the public with information about safe and environmentally-sensitive boating.
Public service announcements featuring several PAA Tour pros discussing boating safety will be aired on FishPAA Television, FishPAA.com and other programming as part of the partnership. The announcements will address common hazards faced by recreational boaters and threats to our natural resources.

“Our new partnership with BoatU.S., the nation’s largest boat owners association, is a natural fit for the PAA,” said Danny Blandford, PAA Program Director. “Conservation and safety are important to each of us, and we look forward to using some of the most accomplished anglers in the country to help spread our co-branded messages.
“This partnership will also allow us to drive awareness in state boating safety campaigns throughout Tennessee, Florida and California this summer. Participants in these state safety campaigns will have opportunities to win a variety of unique “Fish With a Pro” contests, with more details to follow.”
BoatU.S. Foundation offers programs and emphasis focused toward, boating safety, clean water and education. The Foundation also helps educate anglers through the BoatU.S. Angler program.

At BoatU.S.com, visitors will find an online “tool box” with tutorials on boating safety and VHF/DSC radio use, an online boating safety course and a “Dock It!” simulator with different marina layouts to practice docking skills. Other features include a life jacket loaner program, information on how to recycle fishing line and financial grants for grassroots projects.
“Safety and conservation are critical issues to all boaters and anglers, from the pros to grassroots fishermen, in freshwater or saltwater,” Blandford said. “In addition to these awareness campaigns our PAA Tour pros will be helping with, our partnership also brings value to the General PAA member, who can now save 50 percent of membership in the BoatU.S. Angler program. This program provides a variety of benefits and can help our members out of a variety of difficult situations we all have faced as boaters.”
