MINNEAPOLIS (March 2, 2011) – Castrol, widely acknowledged as the world’s leading provider of motor oils and lubricants, will continue its long-standing partnership entering its 10th season with FLW Outdoors, the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization.

Trisha Blake, president, FLW Outdoor Marketing Division, stated: “We are proud to continue our affiliation with Castrol. Our long-term relationship has been extremely beneficial to both of our organizations and we look forward to another successful season.”

Castrol’s long-term commitment to the fishing industry is matched by only a few major companies including Walmart, which will put the motor-oil brand in position to influence millions of outdoors enthusiasts and customers throughout the country. As a prominent part of such retailtainment, which infuses the retail experience with fun, Castrol will be featured at numerous FLW Outdoors tournaments and events including the FLW Outdoors Expo, a giant show for outdoors enthusiasts and their families held in conjunction with the Walmart FLW Tour.

“Castrol is pleased to announce our continuing sponsorship with FLW Outdoors for the 2011 season,” said Bob Aenchbacher, Castrol Sales Director. “Being a sponsor of FLW Outdoors for the last nine years has been a great fit for our Castrol brands (GTX, GTX High Mileage, Syntec and Edge) and the anglers and fans of FLW Outdoors. FLW Outdoors has given us the ability to reach more of our consumers and has been an important driver of our success. We are excited about our on-going relationship and look forward to a great year in 2011.”

Fans will also have the opportunity to interact with three legends of the sport who will serve as brand ambassadors: David Dudley, Darrel Robertson and Mike Surman will sport the Castrol colors. Castrol’s logos and brand messages will permeate numerous tournaments and outdoors events, wrapped around the Ranger boats that will flank countless weigh-in stages along with the matching Chevy vehicles that will tow them across the country.

Dudley, a Lynchburg, Va., native, won the Forrest Wood Cup in 2003 and is FLW Outdoors’ all-time money winner with more than $2.5 million to his credit. His stellar career spans 15 years, and he was named the Walmart FLW Tour Angler of the Year in 2008.

Robertson has achieved about every award available on the Walmart FLW Tour. The Jay, Okla., resident won the Forrest Wood Cup and the Ranger M1 Millennium in 1999, the latter offering $600,000 – the richest purse in the sport at the time. Surman, who resides in Boca Raton, Fla., has fished the FLW Tour for 15 years, qualified for the Forrest Wood Cup five times and earned 18 top-10 finishes in FLW Outdoors competition.

Castrol, which will maintain category exclusivity in the motor oil and related lubricants field, has been a leading marketer of premium lubricants for over a hundred years. Their customers include independent lube operators, service providers, new car dealers and leading retailers, including the world’s largest, Walmart. Their brands include Castrol® EDGE a performance motor oil; Castrol® GTX® – a motor oil that stands for protection; Castrol® GTX® High-Mileage™ – designed for vehicles with over 75,000 miles; Castrol® SYNTEC® – a full-synthetic motor oil; as well as a full range of commercial transport lubricants.
