For bass anglers with hi-tech sonar electronics who are doing nothing more than turning the power on, the first Pro Web Live (PWL) online seminar deserves serious consideration for a ticket purchase.
Professional bass angler Ott DeFoe to speak in online seminar about advanced electronics.
Bassmaster Elite Series pro Ott DeFoe’s “Electronics for Dummies (And Not So Dummies”) scheduled for Tuesday night, Feb. 11, 8 – 9:30 p.m. EST, provides an in-depth, but simple approach to setting and reading today’s advanced electronics to find and catch more bass.
Making the presentation even sweeter is the fact that the audience is not only getting into the home of DeFoe for the seminar, but also his head. The unique virtual experience allows viewers the opportunity to engage the angler in Q&A exchanges for up to an hour at the end of the 90-minute live feed from his home in Knoxville, Tenn.
DeFoe was the 2011 Bassmaster Elite Series Rookie of the Year and post-season All Star Championship winner. In his short pro career to date, he has already had 15 top-10 finishes and earned more than $500,000 in tournament winnings.
“In my mind, this is a one-on-one presentation between me and you,” DeFoe said. “You’re in my house, and I’m telling you exactly what I do every time I get on the water. And since you’re watching from your home or any comfortable setting, you can be snowed in or in the middle of dinner and still get the full benefit of the presentation, with a front row seat.”
DeFoe’s presentation specifically addresses how to use his Humminbird models 999 and 1199, using actual screen shots from his units to show settings and describe views, but says the lessons will be beneficial to users of any advanced sonar equipment.
DeFoe will use actual screen shots from his sonar to describe settings and view interpretations.
His presentation includes Side Imaging, Down Imaging, new 360 Imaging, GPS and standard 2-D sonar. He’ll talk about which settings to tweak for what conditions, as well as which ones he always leaves off.
“When I started out, I was strictly a shallow water fisherman. The changes in electronics and my confidence in using them have made me a better all around angler, shallow and deep. I’ll guarantee you I can cut your learning curve and broaden your fish-catching skills with what I’m going to share in my presentation. Get your buddies together and join us,” DeFoe added.
PWL is a new series of online seminars taught by numerous top professional anglers, including Jason Christie, Dave LeFebre and Shaw Grigsby, who provide the next three presentations.
Each seminar requires a ticket purchase for a cost of $49.99 per computer. “Seating” is limited, so when all seats are taken the show is full. A minimum of 50 door prizes will be awarded by drawing at each show. The top prize for the DeFoe seminar is a MinnKota trolling motor.
