Sturtevant, Wis., March 23, 2011- Evinrude professional angler, Kim Bain-Moore, won the first-ever regular season Lady Bass Anglers Association tournament on Texas’ Sam Rayburn reservoir. The tournament was the first LBAA event Bain-Moore participated in. Another Evinrude pro, Emily Shaffer rounded out the top ten by capturing 10th place.
Bain-Moore, often referred to as the ‘First Lady of Fishing’, won the first place title with a total catch of 34.94. She took home $7,500 for the win plus a $500 big bass award for the pro angler side. Bain-Moore has also won the then WBT championship and Angler-of-the- Year points title in 2008 for freshwater bass fishing and became the first lady ever to fish the Bassmaster Classic.
“High profile anglers such as Kim, especially on the ladies circuit, help bring the Evinrude brand to the next level,” stated Christopher Berg, Evinrude’s Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning. “We are very proud and excited to have Kim as a member of Team Evinrude, bringing in additional titles and awards.”
In 2009, Bain-Moore tested the waters in saltwater tournament fishing and won the American SKA Pro-Ladies King Mackerel Championship, which was her first season on that tour. Back on the bass circuit, Bain-Moore remains a fierce competitor and proudly runs an Evinrude E-TEC 250HO outboard engine.
