Last October, the American Snuff Company launched its “Go Camo for a Cause” promotional campaign for its GRIZZLY® smokeless tobacco products.  From October through December, anglers, hunters and the general public were asked to vote for either the FishAmerica Foundation or the Boone & Crocket Club for an opportunity to receive part of a $250,000 total donation. The American Snuff Company’s generous donation will be used by the FishAmerica Foundation to assist fisheries conservation and research programs in communities across the nation.

“Last October through December, American Snuff Company invited registered users on its Grizzly® brand website-many of whom are avid anglers and hunters-to vote on how an American Snuff Company donation of $250,000 should be allocated among select organizations working to conserve the great outdoors. The FishAmerica Foundation, as one of the featured organizations, received strong support for its mission and was awarded the $120,000 donation,” said Gordon Robertson, vice president of the American Sportfishing Association (ASA). “We’re thrilled that the American Snuff Company will also promote the foundation’s good work at a variety of consumer shows throughout 2014. We sincerely appreciate their generosity to support the foundation’s fisheries restoration and conservation efforts.”

Since 1983, the foundation has invested in more than 900 projects to enhance fish populations, restore fisheries habitat, improve water quality and advance fisheries research to improve sportfishing opportunities and help ensure fishing’s future. As ASA’s research and conservation foundation, FishAmerica provides funding to help empower local communities to invest in improving sportfishing opportunities and habitat conservation through matching funding and volunteer support.
