Garry Mason, Founder of “Legends of the Outdoors” National Hall of Fame Joins Connect Outdoors
Johnson City, TN – June 19 – W. Scott Morris, Connect Outdoors VP of Tournament Operations announces outdoor legend and Bethel University head fishing coach Garry Mason will join Connect Outdoors to help build the Connect Outdoors high school fishing program and tournament fishing platform and will advise the company on product development.
“I’ve been fortunate to know Garry for several years. Innovator, Pioneer, Visionary, Integrity and Conservationist for the outdoors are allocated to Garry. He is the “Pat Summitt-John Wooden” of College Bass Fishing. I’m excited and humbled that Garry’s vision of our Connect Outdoors platform including our ConnectScale tournaments and fundraising matches our vision. His endorsement and consultation will take us to the next level. Bethel University is the dominant force in collegiate fishing, a program Garry built. We are delighted to have such an innovator in the outdoors world join our team”, said Morris. Just this year Bethel University won the National Championship of Collegiate Bass Fishing for the second year in a row, the first time a champion has ever repeated.
Mason will help the company develop the Connect Outdoors Tournament Trail, provide assistance implementing and running operations of the Membership Organization, and provide assistance in acquiring High School and College customers for the Tournament Platform.
“I like working with innovative companies. The ConnectScale, tournament platform, and the company’s vision for future products compliments my view of intelligent use of technology in fishing. As the Bethel University Bass Fishing Coach, I am very proud that ConnectScale and its parent company Connect Outdoors chose our program to be their premier College Bass Fishing Team. This is a huge honor for our program and a great opportunity for our team and our students. I can’t thank you enough”, said Mason.
In addition to being a head fishing coach and founder of the Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame, Mason is the Executive Director for Northwest Tennessee Tourism, he has been featured in many outdoor publications and television programs across the country.
