MINNEAPOLIS (June 13, 2008) – FLW Outdoors announced today that professional bass fisherman Greg Bohannan has joined the Kellogg pro angling team. Fishing out of the Pop-Tarts boat, Bohannan joins the likes of former Wal-Mart FLW Tour champions Clark Wendlandt, Dave Lefebre and Alvin Shaw on one of the most illustrious sponsor teams in the sport.

Bohannan is no stranger to success in the world of professional bass fishing. In 2007, he made a name for himself in the industry by winning the Stren Series Central Division Land O’ Lakes Angler of the Year title and claiming victory at the third tournament of the season on the Columbus Pool of the Tombigbee Waterway. To end his 2007 Stren Series season, Bohannan finished second at the $1 million Stren Series Championship held on the Mobile Delta – earning $25,000 and securing a berth in the $2 million 2008 Forrest Wood Cup. The Stren Series wasn’t the only FLW Outdoors circuit in which Bohannan thrived. He finished 12th in the 2007 Wal-Mart FLW Series BP Eastern Division Land O’ Lakes Angler of the Year race and won his head-to-head matchup at the Wal-Mart FLW Series East-West Fish-Off on Lake Amistad. Lastly, Bohannan won a Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Ozark Division Super Tournament on Lake of the Ozarks.

After finishing the 2007 season with momentum on his side, many in the industry expected the 36-year-old to thrive in his rookie campaign on the FLW Tour. After a rough start, Bohannan righted the ship at stop No. 4 on the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, the Wal-Mart Open. Fishing his home waters of Beaver Lake, the Rogers, Ark., pro drew spirited applause from the hometown crowd as he finished third out of a field of 200 pros and earned $40,000.

“First of all, I am just so thankful that Kellogg chose me out of all the great fishermen out there,” he said. “I’ve always had a ton of respect for the Kellogg team, guys like Clark Wendlandt and Jim Tutt. I’m just honored to be one of their teammates.”

Bohannan also said his Ranger 520VX and 250-horsepower Yamaha HPDI are currently being wrapped with the Pop-Tarts design and will be ready for the upcoming Wal-Mart FLW Tour event on the Fort Loudoun-Tellico lakes near Knoxville, Tenn.

“My No. 1 goal is to win the Forrest Wood Cup, and to do it as a part of Team Kellogg would be a dream come true,” he said.
