The 2008 Junior Bassmaster World Championship and Bassmaster CastingKids National Championship is set for Nov. 8 in Junction City, Kan.
Geary County State Lake will host the Junior World, while the CastingKids finals will take place at Junction City High School.
The 12 Junior World competitors and 12 CastingKids contestants will vie for scholarship money. Representing six regions of the country, the youths earned the right to compete in the championships by advancing through an arduous series of local, state and regional events.
CastingKids finalists will test their skills by casting, pitching and flipping to targets on land. The Junior World field will take to the water in boats captained by the divisional winners of the Nov. 5-7 BASS Federation Nation Championship held on Milford Lake, also out of Junction City.
Both youth competitions are split into age groups: CastingKids is 7-10 and 11-14; Junior World is 11-14 and 15-18. For complete lists of entrants, click here.
