Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance, a world-leading brand in marine electronics since 1957 and GPS navigational systems since 1992 – announced today the overwhelming success of its High Definition System (HDS) at the 2013 Bassmaster Classic, held recently in Tulsa, Okla. In total, 66% of the Classic competitors – including the top five finishers and Classic Champion Cliff Pace – used Lowrance HDS Gen2 and HDS Gen2 Touch fishfinder/chartplotters to find, navigate and dominate the 43rd annual Classic, commonly referred to as the “world championship of bass fishing.”

The percentage of Classic competitors using Lowrance HDS increased by 16% in 2013, year over year.  Along with the top five finishers, 8 of the top 10, and 18 of the top 25, Classic anglers relied on Lowrance HDS displays and StructureScan sonar imaging to identify fish-holding structure and transitions, as well as locate fish on Oklahoma’s Grand Lake.

“The growing percentage of Classic anglers who depend on Lowrance as their electronics of choice and the impressive number of top finishers in 2013 is a fantastic testament to our No. 1 position for the inland fishing market,” said Louis Chemi, COO Americas, Navico. “Our solutions give anglers the tools they need to locate fish, and our new HDS Gen2 Touch has made our proven technology even easier to operate. We are committed to redefining ease of use with the best fishfinding technology for both professional and recreational anglers in fresh and saltwater.”
