Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance, a world-leading brand in marine electronics since 1957 and GPS navigational systems since 1992, announced today that Lowrance ProStaffer Scott Suggs received second place at the prestigious FLW Outdoors Tour. Fishing the four-day tournament at Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri, on March 12-15, 2009, Suggs finished only 11 ounces behind winner Anthony Gagliardi. Taking home a $50,000 consolation prize, Suggs relied exclusively on a suite of Lowrance products, including the award-winning, next-generation Broadband Sounder for its advanced noise reduction, enhanced image quality and cutting-edge target display definition, to quickly eliminate unproductive water and locate active bass.

“I spent one whole day of practice doing nothing but idling huge flats in 100 feet of water using my Lowrance electronics to find schools of bait and bass suspended over trees,” said Suggs. “And I found just what I was looking for-spotted bass suspended in about 25 to 30 feet of water over 40- and 50-foot trees. That Lowrance unit showed everything beautifully-the trees and the bass suspended right over the tops of them-it was picture perfect. My Lowrance graph played a huge part in my success.”

“Our congratulations go to Scott for his impressive performance at the 2009 FLW Outdoors Tournament,” said Gordon Sprouse, director of marketing, Navico. “We are thrilled to partner with him and support his angling drive. His success while using our best-in-class Broadband Sounder is a powerful testament to our industry-leading sonar capabilities.”

On the same weekend, bass angler and Lowrance ProStaffer Todd Driscoll earned championship honors worth $12,000, at the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series operated by American Bass Anglers on Sam Rayburn Lake in Jasper, Texas. Driscoll, who also uses Lowrance products exclusively, has made the cut to advance to the regional championship.
