Mandamin & Carpenter WIN Shaw Kenora Bass International

The Shaw Kenora Bass International kicked of this past week August 5, 2010 and the final weigh-in took place on Kenora’s Harbourfront Saturday. The weights stayed tight right up until the end keeping spectators on the edge of their seats right up unitl the last bass was put in the tank.

The 2009 champions Brian Mcnanney and Mathew Rydberg sat nervously in the lead with a three day total of 48.73lbs with only 3 boats left to weigh in. The hometown boys and 2008 champions Jeff Gustafson and Chris Savage came into day 3 in third place and  weighed in 15.26lbs of Bass on the final day for a total weight of 48.24, coming just shy of taking over the lead, finishing in a very respectable 4th place.

Coming into day 3 in second place was Dennis Mandamin and Jason Carpenter, they continued their success weighing in 16.36lbs contributing to their three day total of 50.20lbs more then enough to overthrow the 2009 champs Mcnanney and Rydberg and take over the lead.  The fun wasn’t over yet…… Day 1 and 2 leaders Behn Carlson and Jon Pearson looked unstoppable coming into day 3.  They weighed in a tournament high 19.55lb bag on day 1 and continued to be consistant in day 2 maintaining the lead with a 15.72lb bag. With 5 fish in the tank on day 3 Carlson and Pearson weighed in 13.17lbs for a combined weight of 48.44lbs knocking them back to third place and crowning Dennis mandamin and Jason Carpenter the 2010 Shaw KBI champions taking home $21,500 dollars.
