APRIL 29, 2011-MINNETONKA, MN-Building on the strength of the 500,000-member North American Fishing Club, the Masters Bass Circuit has been rebranded to become the North American Bass Circuit.
“This is an exciting move, which more closely aligns our Circuit, our anglers and our sponsors with the Fishing Club’s half-a-million-strong membership base and industry-leading media assets,” said NABC Executive Director Dan Johnson.
The Bass Circuit and Fishing Club are both owned by parent company North American Membership Group, along with the highly successful Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit-which is experiencing continued growth and popularity despite economic challenges facing the fishing industry.
With three qualifying tournaments and a world championship set for its inaugural 2011 season, the team-format, North American Bass Circuit offers anglers exciting, professionally-run competitions for hefty payouts on world-class fishing destinations. And, drawing on 27 years of experience with the Cabela’s MWC, the NABC offers industry partners powerful grassroots marketing opportunities, coupled with the print and digital media assets of the world’s largest outdoor communications powerhouse.
“We have three one-day qualifiers, each with a 50-boat limit and $10,000 first-place prize, and a two-day championship with a $20,000 first-place payout,” says Johnson. “And with sponsor contingencies like Cabela’s Angler Cash, Stratos 2X ‘Double Your Winnings,’ Ranger Cup, Optima Batteries True Blue program and O2 Technologies U2 and Oxygenator bonuses, our payouts increase by more than $50,000.”
Like the time-tested MWC platform, the new Bass Circuit offers anglers an impressive yet extremely cost-effective venue to showcase their fishing talents, and sponsors a great forum in which to build their brands. For starters, an NABC Update-with results, photos and sponsor recognition-will appear in North American Fisherman magazine, which has a total readership of 3.4 million per issue. Plus, the NABC staff will work closely with the editorial department to highlight its anglers and sponsor products in feature articles and other print and online copy.
The NABC will also deliver a package of geo-targeted “Fishin’ Informer” e-newsletters, each of which reaches an average of 150,000 opt-in subscribers, along with a dedicated interactive website and aggressive social media presence.
