Right now Skeet Reese is in a three-way tie for 9th after Day 1 of the Bassmaster Elite Series event out of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Reese, Aaron Martens and Fred Roumbanis all weighed in 14 pounds 4 ounces.

“I thought I had a great day for here,” said Reese. “It looks like a lot of guys had a great day too. This is a real healthy fishery. I’ll go out and try to get another 14 pounds tomorrow and make it to fish Saturday. Then I will take it from there.”

Reese currently sits in Second in the coveted Angler of the Year race.

Grigsby goes Gonzo.

Veteran Elite Series pro Shaw Grigsby had an abundance of bass action on the Mighty Mississippi today.

“I must have set some type of record today,” said Grigsby. My partner in the boat will tell you I caught 150 bass today, but I will say for sure I caught 120. I caught them on all different Strike King baits. I used three different line sizes. It just didn’t seem to matter what I was using, they bit.”

Grigsby is currently in 34th with 12 pounds 13 ounces.
