DECEMBER 22, 2011-MINNETONKA, MN-Bass fans making New Year’s resolutions to promote competitive fishing and bass conservation have added incentive to stick to their goals-the North American Bass Circuit’s new Angler Recruitment Award.
“We’re serious about supporting the sport, so we’re putting our money where our mouths are and offering anglers a financial reward for introducing new teams to the NABC family,” said Executive Director Dan Johnson. “At each of our four 2012 qualifiers, the angler credited with bringing the most new teams into the fold will be awarded a free NABC entry to the tournament of their choice in the 2013 season.
“That’s a $500 value,” he added. “And because 100 percent of our entry fees go directly back into payouts and prizes, this comes straight from the Circuit, not our anglers.”
The NABC also takes conservation seriously, and donates $15 per entry fee at each event toward fisheries-related efforts in states where its tournaments are held. Since 1984, the NABC and its sister trail, the Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit, have given more than $300,000 to fisheries conservation.
To qualify for the award, anglers must be credited by new teams for referring them to the NABC-either in the space provided on the 2012 registration forms, or by contacting NABC staff prior to each tournament’s rules meeting.
“We decided to present the award individually because some anglers are more active than their teammates in promoting the Circuit,” said Johnson. “Also, in the event a team splits up in the off-season, the angler who did the most recruiting will retain the 2013 entry.”
Registration opens Jan. 9 for the North American Bass Circuit’s second season of team-tournament action. Anglers will be able to sign up online, by fax or regular mail to enjoy great bass fishing while competing for thousands in cash and prizes in four qualifying tournaments. Complete 2012 rules are posted under the “Registration” tab at northamericanbasscircuit.com. Full details, links for online registration and printable registration forms will be posted shortly.
