To kick things off, one of the top pros on the Bassmaster Elite Series, Ott De Foe will share his Top 3 “Must Haves” for Christmas.
“First off I need some eggnog,” said De Foe. “I like plain old eggnog. I’ve tried it with all the different liquor in it, but I like it plain. For me, the taste of eggnog just says it is that time of the year, Christmas time.
“Second, I need a real tree. I just have to get one in the house. If the house doesn’t smell like cedar or pine, it’s just not right.
“When I was younger, we would go off the side of the road and cut down a tree. It was awful messy, but fun. We had some real homely trees. When I got married, we tried that too, but when the ornaments started falling off, we knew it was time to change. Well, we now go to a tree lot and get a tree that looks good and holds the ornaments.
“Finally, a family disaster is necessary for the perfect Christmas gathering. Not tragedies, but a disaster, like the Griswolds from Christmas Vacation. It can be anything funny or silly. We’ve had the tree fall over and food fights where there are biscuits or rolls thrown. It’s just not complete with out something going wrong.”
