Elite Series pro Jeff Kriet of Ardmore, Oklahoma is feeling a tad lost after Day 1 of the Elite Series event on West Point Lake. Kriet is in 76th with 5 pounds 9 pounces.

“I feel like I’ve never bass fished before,” said Kriet. “I don’t have a clue.”

Jonathon VanDam of Kalamazoo, Michigan didn’t bring in a monster bag today. His total of 5 pounds 12 ounces is holding down the 69th spot.

“I went all over the lake today,” said VanDam. “I will go all over the lake tomorrow. I am proud of my 5 keepers.”

Hank Cherry of Maiden, North Carolina caught multiple limits today on his way to his weight of 12 pounds 4 ounces. He is in 8th.
“It was pretty exciting today,” said Cherry. “I caught the 12 pounds awful quick this morning. I caught another three limits. They should be there tomorrow. Chasing shad around. I’m not fishing like the others.”
