The U.S. Coast Guard announced today in a press release that a major portion of the Tennessee River has been closed to recreational traffic. The closed portion of the river stretches from mile-marker 0 At Paducah, Ky. to mile-marker 206 at Pickwick Landing.
The river closure will not effect this weeks Bassmaster Elite Series event on Guntersville, which is upriver from the closure. The closure does point out how tragic and serious the flooding conditions are in Tennessee.
TVA reports on it’s site that Guntersville will be “spilling until further notice” in order to keep water moving.
The Kentucky Lake BLF event has been rescheduled for June 19th.
