The Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series announced their schedule for the 2015 season. The new schedule will consist of the Cabela’s Collegiate Big Bass Bash, the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open, and the season-ending BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship, however the series will introduce a new event in the spring.
The 2015 Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series presented by BoatUS will showcase four nationally televised events on some of the nation’s top fisheries. The 2015 schedule is as follows:
Cabela’s Collegiate Big Bass Bash – March 13-15, 2015 – Kentucky Lake – Paris, Tennessee
Collegiate Bass Fishing Open – April 17-19, 2015 – Lake Chickamauga – Dayton, Tennessee
The Texas Shootout – April 25-26, 2015 – Lake Texoma
BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship – May 20-22, 2015 – Pickwick Lake – Florence, Alabama
“We are very excited to announce our schedule for the 2015 season, and we are very happy to add an additional event to the series,” said the President of Careco TV and Co-founder of the ACA, Wade Middleton. “Due to the fact that most of the major tournaments throughout the year take place in the east, we wanted to add an extra opportunity for college anglers in the central region. Lake Texoma is a great lake and location to host the Texas Shootout and we look forward to getting more college anglers on the water.”
All of the events in the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series will be aired on national television. The events will also be counted heavily towards the prestigious Cabela’s School of the Year title as each of these ACA sanctioned events will allow two teams from each school to earn points towards the title, as opposed to just one in every other circuit and series.
Middleton added that, “The addition of the Texas Shootout will definitely be a game changer in the Cabela’s School of the Year race and we believe it will be a great season.”
