Bass Pro Shops’ Chris Lane cites Johnny Morris CarbonLite rods and reels as key in Bassmaster Elite win
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Chris Lane, one of the newest members of Bass Pro Shops national
fishing team, swears by his Johnny Morris CarbonLite rods and reels. And his wire-to-wire Bassmaster Elite victory on the challenging Sabine River in Orange, Texas, shows he’s a man who knows what he’s talking about.
“I switched to Bass Pro Shops Johnny Morris CarbonLite rods and reels this year and am excited to team up with Bass Pro Shops. I caught most all of my fish with the 7-foot medium heavy rod and the 6:4 to 1 gear ratio reel,” Lane said. “The durability, the drag, everything did exactly what it needed to do to put fish in the boat. The sensitivity of the rods nailed it, and the smooth drag on the reel allowed me to pull them out of that thick cover.”
Lane, who hails from Alabama, is the first angler to lead all four days of a Bassmaster Elite
Series event since 2013. Lane weighed 50 pounds over four days to earn his fourth Elite win and seventh major BASS title in a 10-year career.
The next stop in the Bassmaster Elite series occurs April 9-12 at Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Alabama.
