Local school officials in the north Alabama region were hustling to get kids home before a major wall of thunderstorms and severe weather moved through the area. North Alabama was right in the middle of a massive front that stretched across multiple states, causing the National Weather Service to issue a severe thunderstorm, tornado, and wind advisory.
As of 2:00 CT today, it hadn’t made it’s way to the tournament waters yet where the Bassmaster Elite Series anglers have been practicing. Rookie Pro Travis Manson was keeping close tabs on the weather with friends updating him as the day has gone on.
“It’s not looking good out here, but I’m going to stay as long as I can, I’ll deal with it once it gets here,” said Manson. ” I’m in between two landings and have a buddy ready to meet me at either one if need be.”
The third stop on the 2011 Bassmaster Elite Series Tour is schedule to start Wednesday, with Tuesday being the final practice day. Temps this evening are expected to dip down into the 40’s, adding another element to the many the Elite field will have to face over the next few days.
