Entice Those Lethargic Winter Bass…
This week’s tip comes from our woman of the week Barbara Harris (see #2 below!)
Here’s Barbara’s best tip for enticing those sluggish winter bass to bite! Barbara says when the water temp starts getting into the 40s then the fish will go deeper for warmer water. They will significantly decrease their eating behaviors. So to entice a lethargic bass whose metabolism is super low try downsizing and fishing as slow as you can then slow down some more!
She recommends using small jigs, little shakey heads or a slow-moving Ned Rig or Drop Shot for the best chances for success!
If you get lucky with a warmer day, or even better, a few warm sunny days in a row, go find some rocks. The bass will be there!

Her Twitter description sums it up well: “Entertainer, advocate, influencer, fighter of all things right, social media marketing.” Barbara Harris a.k.a. BassingGal has certainly been an amazing advocate for The Woman Angler & Adventurer thus far!
In fact, she connected us with all the amazing lady anglers we’re going to be featuring on our live show from the Nashville Boat Show on Saturday, January 11th at the Music City Center. Several top anglers from the LBAA (Lady Bass Anglers Association) will be on hand thanks to Barbara’s assistance.
Not only that but she also connected us with our next guest on this week’s upcoming show, Cheryl Bowden, co-founder of the LBAA! It’s our 100th episode and you’re in for a real treat!
Take a moment to check out and subscribe to Barbara’s YouTube Channel. A tournament angler herself, she’s fished the LBAA and she’s an avid student of bass fishing. There’s a lot of great information and action-packed videos on her channel!
Her looking back on 2019 and looking forward to 2020 is a can’t miss! Lot’s of exciting things in store and we can’t wait to see what adventures the new year brings! We’re better together! Thank you Barbara!
