COLLINS LAKE: Collins is full and spilling too, but the clarity is improving. Use of scent products is recommended to increase your chances for trout. The Recreation Area skipped the scheduled private trout stock from Mt. Lassen Fish Farms but plans to resume it this week despite the lake still spilling. A rare occurrence, there were no fish on the Recreation Area’s lunker list this week other than a 1 1/4-pound first fish for 8-year-old “Maria.”
BULLARDS BAR: Bullards Bar is still producing kokanee, according to Craig Newton of Will Fish Tackle. It’s slowed down a touch. The main action is in the Willow Creek arm. This enduring bite should go right through summer, it’s just a matter of finding the schools. Shaun Rainsbarger of Shaun’s Guide Service accomplished the task on Friday, ending up with one fish shy of 2 limits. All his kokes were 10 to 12 inches. The water was cold, 48 degrees.
