This weekend was historic in the realm of professional bass fishing and sort of a microcosm of the current state of professional bass fishing. Not only did two well-known anglers win on their subsequent professional tours, but a third historic angler won his third Angler of the Year title in four years while another popular angler won a title on the made-for-television professional fishing tour— Major League Fishing.

Let’s look at what was maybe the most historic weekend in professional tournament bass fishing and how historic each of these events is as well as the overall professional bass fishing year in review, granted there are still a couple of Elite Series events, FLW Tour Invitationals, Angler of year for the Elite Series title and the Forrest Wood Cup champion still yet to be decided.
