If you like the Esox magnum you will love this boat. The interior is the same but about 12″ deep. This allows you to run big lakes as well as smaller lakes. I take this boat to Canada where I have been caught in 4+ footer and had no problem. The boat is the prefect musky boat and/or guide boat. I moved the big hummingbird helix to the right side, which allows you to have your left hand on the stick and the right hand free to zoom in and out to avoid rocks. This boat is decked out with great electronics and is ready to go.

Boat 7’
Trailer 7’10”
Boat and trailer 23’

The boat itself is custom and is not on NADA. It was custom build for the musky guide Bruce Shumway in 2000. The guy who makes the fuzzy does it, the funky chicken, and the original Flasher. The boat is 18′ long which allows plenty of room for 3 anglers to throw big baits without tripping over each other. It as a 90 merc optimax that pushes a full load to almost 40, cruise nicely at 36, and with a light load does about 42. It is control by a merten big tiller system with troll control that was installed by them 2014 when I got the new motor. The boat has a seacast transom that was installed in 2015, to provide piece of mind that the transom will not rot. The decks are solid as well. The boat was re-carpeted in 2015 and new electronics were added.
Boat price made up of parts:
$ 7000 nada 2012 Merc optimax 90 professionally propped. The recall service was done in 2015, and the motor runs perfectly.
$ 500 Big tiller troll control ECM – allows you to precisely control speed for trolling between 1.2-6 mph.
$ 2000 for the boat and trailer.
$ 2000 trolling motor system. Terrova with ipilot (new 2000+ 400), the biggest dual power 3 bank charger (new $350) 2 die hard platinum batteries (new over $500), the entire system has 3 years on it.
$2000 1197 humminbird DI chart plotter in the front
$1500 new 11″ helix SI down imaging system in the rear, and a VHF radio.
Total value for the boat is well over $16000.
Talon isn’t not included in the list price.
More about the boat.
As I said the boat has the perfect musky layout that allows you to fight a fish running around the boat seamlessly on the top deck. The configuration under the deck is good too. The rod locker will hold 8′ rods, it has a 60″ livewell for releasing the fish after a long fight. It has about a 30″ cooler and a large front hatch for additional gear. In the back are a custom set a wave wackers that were made for the boat, that also holds a big mucky net out of the way. Lastly, I extended the rear deck to provide more room for casting and it also serves as my tackle storage. It can hold over 48″ large size plano boxes standing on there side. I use the side compartment a bait storage when I’m switching baits. To be honest, being a black boat, you can see the rock skuffs from trailering and could use a fresh gelcoat or just a wet sand. However the boat still looks sharp. You could do it yourself for elbow grease and 200 worth of gelcoat, have somebody do it (between 1000 and 1500), or you could just sticker it for 900 -1000 and get custom graphics. I was also thinking of painting it with the brush and tip technique this would cost 200 bucks in paint. The interior is good, new carpet, electric system is new, etc. Tires on the trailer are in good shape, and the boat is always store under a boat lift cover or in the garage.
