COLUMBIA, S.C. (October 7, 2015) – Johnson played a key role in the 2015 Crappie Masters tournament series including the Championship tournament that just concluded on Kentucky Lake.
As previously reported, the Johnson Crappie team duo of Billy and Scott Williams captured the Crappie Masters Angler Team of the Year by a single point. Earlier in the season, Jeff Riddle and Dave Maddox captured the Beaver Lake title. Both teams credited their success to Johnson Shad Scales and Tubes.
Shad Scales were also a major contributor to the success of teams competing in the championship with several Johnson incentive awards presented. A $500 check was present to the team of John Eubanks and Shane Moore for using Johnson Shad Scales. Their 2.78-pound crappie was the biggest fish of the championship.
Three of the top five spots at the event on Kentucky Lake were awarded Johnson $250 incentive checks for highest finish using Shad Scales.
Second place team: Harold Maddux and Brian Oldham.
Fourth place team: Brently Smith and Elliot Dowdy.
Fifth place team: Damon Thomas and Dan Porter.
Next on the Crappie Masters All American Tournament Trail will be an early bird 2016 national qualifier October 30-31, 2015 on Grenada Lake, Grenada, Mississippi.
