GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) – It’s no secret that fishing is big around Gadsden county, and this weekend many people will be hoping for that big catch.

WTXL ABC 27’s Jada Williams was live Friday morning with more on how those anglers are bringing in more money for the county.

Terry Richard is a tournament angler.

“It’s gorgeous, the location is great, the people are great, there’s always somewhere to hide out of the wind,” he said.

You can usually find people reeling in a nice catch on Lake Talquin.

“Recreational fishing is all about going out to catch food for the table,”

Richard said.

But this isn’t recreational

“That’s our eyes under water.”

It’s the National Crappie Fishing Tournament.
