Angler’s crappie sets new Missouri record
The Missouri Department of Conservation reported that Austin Campbell of Harrisonville became the most recent record-breaking angler for the state of Missouri when he successfully landed a white crappie in a Cass County irrigation pond on a trotline.
The record fish that Campbell caught back on May 23 weighed in at 2-pounds, 1-ounce with a length of 15 ½ inches. His recent catch broke the previous state-record by a 1-pound, 5-ounce. The previous record was also a white crappie caught on a trotline in May of this year.
Congrats to Austin on the new state record!
