Grand Prairie, TX (November 18, 2020) Just because you’re fishing in sub-zero temperatures doesn’t mean you have to be cold and uncomfortable. The new Ice Hunter Shelters from Frabill offers more fishable space and easy entry and exit, so you never feel cramped. They’re wrapped with plenty of fully quilted insulation to keep you warm on the coldest days.
“The biggest advantage of the patented Sidestep design is that each angler can get in and out without getting in each other’s way,” says Dale Stroschein, Frabill ice fishing pro and Freshwater Hall of Fame Angler.
The side entry in the new Ice Hunter Sidestep Shelter makes getting in and out easier than ever by letting anglers slip in on the sides without stepping over holes and gear. Both models feature side-by-side boat seats for all-day comfort, so you and a buddy can jig without getting in each other’s way. The larger model has almost 30 feet of fishable space, rivaling the size of many permanent shanties. Quilted insulation stands up to stiff winds and keeps in the heat all day. The layout of the windows and doors make it a tip-up angler’s dream.
Ice fishing season is here. Set up in a Frabill ice shelter and get to work!
“The Ice Hunter Sidestep Shelter is great for scanning tip-ups. The wide field of vision means you’ll never miss a flag,” adds Stroschein. “With the side door, you won’t trip over your gear as you race to a big fish taking line.”
“The Ice Hunter Front Entry Shelter is perfect for the run-and-gun angler,” says Stroschein. “The lightweight and rapid set up lets you move quickly. You can set up shallow and move deeper when the fish get light-sensitive later in the day.”
Those who like to travel light and fast will find the Ice Hunter Front Entry Shelter ideal for their style of fishing. The two-person model weighs only 78 pounds, and the single only 60, so you can pull on them on foot if needed. With a four-wheeler or snow machine, you’ll hardly even notice it. The two-angler model features side-by-side boat seats housed in 19.5 fishable square feet, and the solo version has a jump seat to make the most out of the 11.5 square feet enclosure. Welded insulation bucks the cold even when the mercury plummets.
Ice Hunter shelters feature Mossy Oakā¢ camo patterns and a complete new window layout. The new design also creates a vertical front wall that offers more room for hook sets. This upright wall geometry reduces the risk of heater damage by moving the fabric further away from the heat source. For durability and light weight, all are constructed with alloy frames that are 30% stronger and 30% lighter. Both designs reflect the cutting edge in portable shelters.
“Frabill has changed with the fishery,” says Stroschein. “They’ve adapted very quickly to give anglers what they need to be successful.”
