Hey everybody, Dan Schmidt from Sunset Lodge!
The snowmobile trail was staked from Baudette up to the NW Angle last Wednesday, around the NW Angle today and it will be staked down to Warroad on Wednesday. Lots of snowmobiles running around up here. The trails are in great condition!!
Limits of crappies are being caught up in Ontario, I don’t recommend going up into Canada unless you are with a guide as there are still spots with thin ice and slush in the current areas.
We checked about 30 spots from Oak Island over to Young’s Bay along the snowmobile trail yesterday and found 12-14 inches. One spot around Murgen’s Point was 11. We are hoping the ice road will be plowed out to us sometime this week, he’s working his way over right now.
We have our houses on the south of Oak Island and by Little Oak. These areas have been producing fish. We are fishing 22-28 feet in the mud, adjacent to reefs.
Until next week, good fishing!
