Gear up for success in the fast-approaching ice fishing season at the St. Paul Ice Fishing and Winter Sports Show. From Dec. 4-6, St. Paul’s RiverCentre will house more than 150 exhibitors showcasing the latest, greatest products and services geared to the hardwater crowd.

“It’s a great opportunity to get a jump-start on the season,” says legendary Minnesota iceman Dave Genz, who will present detailed how-to seminars daily at the show, along with expert angler Scott Peterson. Hailing from St. Cloud, Genz for decades has led the crusade to bring ice fishing from the Dark Ages into the modern era of highly successful, mobile winter angling. His namesake ice lures like the Genz Worm and Genz Bug from Lindy are among the deadliest baits on ice.

One of the hottest new lures at the show is the all-new Lindy Darter. The bait’s unique darting action and intense rattles draw gamefish in to investigate, after which its holographic baitfish finish seals the deal. “Available in 1 1/3-, 1.75- and 2-inch sizes, nine baitfish finishes and two glow patterns, Darters cover every ice fishing situation and every species from walleyes to panfish,” says veteran Mille Lacs Lake guide Jon Thelen, who field-tested the bait extensively last season.

Veteran Minnesota fishing guide Jon Thelen helped design one of the hottest new baits on the ice this winter, the new Lindy Darter. Meet Jon in the Lindy booth at the St. Paul Ice Show, or check out his latest ice fishing tips at lindyfishingtackle.com.

Showgoers can “test-drive” Darters and other new ice lures, like the Slick Jig and upgraded Techni-Glo Flyer, in a special tank at the Lindy Legendary Fishing Tackle booth throughout the event. Thelen and other Lindy pros will be on hand to offer presentation tips and other advice. There will even be special offers on purchasing ice fishing tackle.
