Park Falls, WI (March 13, 2004) – Southwick Associates, the nation’s premier outdoors market research firm, has announced the brands anglers purchased most frequently in 2013. Results were compiled from the 18,559 internet-based surveys completed by anglers who volunteered to participate last year in Southwick Associates’ AnglerSurvey.com poll.
In 2013, anglers participating in the survey said they purchased St. Croix ice rods more than any other brand.
“Our goal is to provide innovation to all our rods including those built for ice fishing,” says St. Croix Rod V.P. of Brand Management, Jeff Schluter. “When first launched in 2005, the Legend Ice series brought the spring bobber concept to an unprecedented level of performance. In 2013, we updated the original design and renamed it Legend Silver. In addition, we launched a premium version called Legend Gold. It’s very rewarding to see ice anglers respond as they have. We’re grateful our customers recognize the performance advantage of our super-finesse, high-tension, stainless-steel strike indicator system.”
St. Croix currently manufactures three different families of ice rods, as well as complete combos, and the preeminent strike indicator/spring bobber on the ice. “We’ve had huge success with all our lines, offering a vast collection of technique-specific rods, from short, palm-style models for shallow panfish sight-fishing to heavy-power rods that ensure powerful hooksets and no-fail performance for big walleye and lake trout fishing in Canada and the Great Lakes.”
From the outset St. Croix’s Legend® Ice rods took the ice fishing world by storm. Probably because their patented super finesse and adjustable spring bobber makes them about the finest rod ever to stand guard over a hole. Legend® Ice rods feature a patented built-in strike indicator system developed by Greg “The Prowler” Wilczynski, a medalist in world ice fishing competitions. Greg spent years refining the unique spring bobber system, which turns ordinary fishermen into fish catching machines.
