Battle on Bago draws thousands to Oshkosh area

The tournament is among the largest in the country and a major fundraiser for local charities.
Under a tent at Menominee Park in Oshkosh, is where the fish get weighed as fishermen from nearly every state compete for a chance to win prizes valued at more than $300,000.
“It’s a walleye. The belly is huge on it,” said Tommy Burr of Eagle River who’s among the youngest competing in the tournament.
The walleye he caught is 22 inches long.
He said,”We saw the tip up and we waited about 15 seconds and I grabbed the tip up and I set the hook really hard and we pulled it up and then we just started screaming in excitement.”
