Fishing surface poppers and foam bugs should have a few fish “blowing up” a fly. Leech patterns pulled slowly toward the shoreline will take a few fish. If chasing smallmouth bass in a creek or river, fish Clouser Minnows and crayfish patterns. May was an exceptional month, thanks to the cooler temps, hatching bugs for cooperative trout. Sulphur, Cahill, Blue-Winged Olive and Caddis flies should still be on the menu.
