Two-pound plus crappie wins $10,000 for angler in Ice Castle Classic on Lac qui Parle Lake

MONTEVIDEO – Approximately 1,100 anglers braved subzero wind chills Saturday to participate in the sixth annual Ice Castle Classic fishing tournament on Lac qui Parle Lake, but no one felt better about braving the conditions than Matthew Fragodt of Montevideo.

His 2.03-pound crappie was the tournament’s best, and earned him the grand prize of $10,000.

The tournament is one of western Minnesota’s largest in terms of participants and prizes awarded.
