2009 Greg Tichacek Tourney results

The water was 55 degrees, but the air was 15 degrees colder, when fifteen boats started out on the IMTT’s Greg Tichacek Memorial Tournament, held on Lake Evergreen in Bloomington, Saturday, October 17th.  It was a hard, windy, fishing day, with only two muskie caught over the 30 inch tournament minimum. Both of the qualifying muskie were over forty inches however, and were caught by the same team. Brother team Bob (Toulon, IL.) and Mike Taylor (DeKalb, IL.) found the secret, and caught the two muskie (41″ & 43″), in different spots, at different times, to win the tournament.

The Tichacek Tourney was one of the few remaining qualifying Trail tournaments leading to the IMTT Illinois State Championship, which will be held on Lake Shelbyville, November 7 & 8.
