This season’s big news is the new lodge building that is rapidly nearing completion for AML’s 2018 opening. It will be the gem of NW Ontario fishing lodges!
Our new lodge includes a 3500 sq. ft. first floor with a huge outside deck facing the lake, a large spacious dining area complete with rustic wood tables and chairs, and a spectacular view of Eagle Lake through full floor-to-ceiling windows.
Central air and heat make for cozy all-season or weather comfort zone. This is complimented by a large lounge and gathering area with comfortable seating section and big screen TVs for socializing and seminars.
A quiet corner table, Internet cafe and, media area with multiple electrical and USB ports is available for the sportsmen that get away every chance they can but need to check in and catch up here and there.
There are also separate clothing, gift, and tackle shops. Last, but certainly not least, the main office and business centre.
The second story houses myself and my family’s residence and also three spacious and private, motel-style A/P rooms. These rooms were designed for no vacancy periods and for those whose only care is about being at AML, on the water every minute they can, a good, hot meal, and a place to sleep. These rooms can also be used for small parties on short and/or off-schedule stays.
Andy Myer’s Lodge (“The New Generation Lodge”) moves on and grows, but it will always keep that same, “Old World Feel” started years ago and respected by many of all ages!
As if that’s not enough for one season, we have more improvements and renovations to tell you about!
Cabin 5, a remodeled log cabin that’s a favorite of many is being moved to its own and secluded setting. This will have a lake view of Myers Bay to the SE side of camp. Waking up to the sight and sounds of loons, ducks, and otters while welcoming the new day complements its homey, rustic feel.
It’s the true Canadian experience!
AML has always branded itself first and foremost as that of a real fishing lodge, and always will. So the boat fleet gets upgraded again this season for even more guests’ comfort and fishability. Two new Crestliner FishHawk 19′ and Tuffy 2100 guide boats, and 4 new guest Crestliner Kodiak 17.5′ upgrade boats have been added to complement Our fleet. Andy Myer’s Lodge has one of the best and biggest fleets of boats and professional guides in Ontario.
John Gillespie with ‘Waters & Woods’ television will be up in mid-summer and again in late fall for a multi-species shoot. Watch for the show dates to be announced.
We are also proud to announce Jimmy Saric and Musky Hunter TV will be back up for a late summer/early fall trophy musky filming. Spence Petros will also be making an appearance in August. It’s always a good time having these comrades in arms at camp filming and sharing what we do best: catching lots of fish and having a great time doing it!
