George’s 2016 MN Muskie Expo will be the largest Expo of this style ever. With Evinrude outboards sponsoring all 50,000 square feet including 160 booths filled with “nothing but muskie”, it’s a must-see event. Make plans to attend this 21st annual event held in honor of its founder, George Wahl. The Expo returns to Concordia University in the Gangelhoff Center (at the corner of Marshall and Hamline in St. Paul). It runs April 8 thru 10, Friday 2-9 pm, Saturday 10 to 7 pm and Sunday 10 to 4 pm. Parking for the show is FREE in the numerous school lots and on street
This show includes retailers with the lowest prices guaranteed on electronics, trolling motors, rods, reels, nets and lures. There are numerous resorts from the best muskie waters across Minnesota and Canada to plan your next vacation. This is also the place to quiz the world’s top muskie guides on their secrets of success and to book a fishing trip for the 2016 season. Abu Garcia and Shimano will even have reps on hand to teach you how to clean/repair (0ne reel at each) for free.
George’s MN Muskie Expo is the best place to learn the how-to’s of becoming a more successful muskie angler. The industry’s top anglers will detail the tackle, tactics and lakes that produce so many trophy muskies for them each year at seminars throughout the weekend. Some of the 2016 seminar speakers include Mike Keyes, Jim Saric, Luke Ronnestrand and Josh Stevenson. Plan to attend the award program at 12:30 on Saturday which will recognize the new fly fishing world record muskie release and the new modern day world record muskie release. Be sure to look for the graphite reproduction of the world record tiger muskie release in Dustin Carlson’s booth as well.
Don’t forget the kids – entry for kids 12 and under is free all weekend! They’ll be thrilled at the trout pond, kids’ midway game area and George’s Tackle Box where they can make their own bucktails, jigs, spoons, crankbaits and leaders to take home free.
