The Hartman Series MAC on Cass Lake October 10 and 11 is timed perfectly, according to MAC Co-Director Paul Hartman. Warm Fall temps and steady water temps will team up to produce a spectacular pre-turnover bite on the big Northern Minnesota lake. The reed bite should still be hot according to Paul, plus the break line and weed bite will be going as well. Topwater should still be very effective, as temperatures in the long range forecast look to bring a slow, steady cooldown with no major cold blasts in sight.
The Friday night registration and rules meeting will be held at the American Legion Hall in Cass Lake. Registration will begin at 5 PM Friday, October 9th, and the rules meeting at 7 PM sharp. Morning ceremonies will be held at Birch Villa resort on the west side of Cass Lake. Contestants may book lodging at Birch Villa, or boat to the docks for check in and one boat at a time ease out at 7 AM. Be sure to be there and ready for boat check and morning video interviews by 6:30 AM! Fishing hours are 7 AM to 4 PM Saturday, and 7 AM to 3:30 PM Sunday. All fish are immediate CPR and called in by cell phone, so contestants can register a fish via telephone and fish through to the last minute. The virtual weigh in will begin at 5:15 PM Saturday and 4:30 PM Sunday at the American Legion. We are inside in case of inclement weather.
Registration will remain open until 8 PM Friday evening. Contestants registered by Thursday, October 8th for the Cass Lake Hartman Series event will be eligible for a drawing for a Stow Master Muskie net and a Big Pike award of $50.00 per day.
Entry into the Hartman Series Tournaments is $500.00 per team. First place will pay out up to $10,100.00 and total payout will be up to $21,500.00 with a 50 boat field.
The Muskie Anglers Circuit was formed to
a) provide a national competitive arena and media platform to showcase the abilities and personalities of the sport’s most skilled competitive muskie anglers
b) promote muskie angling and conservation and to provide educational opportunities for current and future generations of anglers and
c) showcase products and service that support the sport of muskie fishing.
All MAC tournaments are CPR (Catch, Photo, and Immediate Release).
