A short field has caused the Muskie Anglers Circuit officials to limit the Leech lake MAC to one day; Saturday, August 22nd. The rules meeting will be held at Chase on the Lake as planned.

Watch for an announcement Monday morning when the  field is tallied and a payout can be announced. It appears the economy has taken it’s toll on the MAC Leech Lake, as over 1500 brochures sent out  resulted in disappointing entries into the Leech lake event. Entries will be accepted at the Rules meeting the 21st.  Meeting begins at 7:00 PM (registration begins at 6pm).

The first Hartman Series event drew 12 teams, a surprising total to Director Paul Hartman, who expected 35 to 50 entries. Cass Lake appears much stronger, and regular weekly updates will be published on Cass and all other MAC events for 2009 so the public can see progress on recruiting contestants for the MAC and Hartman Series in September and October.

The MAC will forge ahead with the 2009 events as planned, and will announce the anticipated payouts and options for the Leech Lake tournament Monday morning. MAC Sponsors are solidly behind the events for 2009 and 2010,and will be moving ahead to full fields into the future.
