Successes a highlight at fisheries forum

The status of ongoing projects to improve fishing on Sawyer County lakes and rivers—from northern pike removal to musky stocking to “fish sticks” woody habitat enhancement and a survey of trout in the Namekagon River—was reviewed by Department of Natural Resources fishery biologist Max Wolter during an annual forum at Hayward High School Thursday, Feb. 7.

About 35 hardy individuals came out on a snowy evening to listen, view videos from 2018 surveys, provide comments and get answers to questions.
