Anglers Can Keep 4 Walleye on Upper Red Lake Starting Next Week
The current three-fish bag limit that has been in place since last winter is being increased to four fish starting Wednesday, June 15. The existing size regulation allowing one walleye longer than 17 inches in the daily bag will remain in effect.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says declining catch rates contributed to the increased harvest number.
Walleye harvest on the lake is managed on an annual basis by a harvest plan. The less restrictive walleye regulations were put in place on Upper Red Lake this past winter.
