450 youths attend Family Fishing Clinic in Madison Wisconsin

NPAA members Jim Kloth #633, Gary Engberg #184 and Greg Karch #138 assisted youths and families during the family fishing clinic held in Madison, Wisconsin on June 4th. This Clinic include family fishing time, a fishing seminar and lunch.
During the family fishing time many youths caught their first fish and were very excited. During the thirty minute seminar on ‘Fishing Basics’ conducted by Jim and Greg, it included the following; safety, details on open and closed face fishing combo’s, casting, fishing identification, knots, bait, part’s of a fish, what was in Greg’s tackle box when he was a youth and finally a AIS message on invasive species and to remember “inspect, drain, clean, dry”.
A big thank you goes to Yahara Fishing Club for donating a rod and reel or a tackle box for each of the youths, Walmart for the food, NPAA for supplying T-shirts and ‘Go Fishing’ educational books and bobbers, Fintech for jigs, D&S for bait and TTI Blakemore for Tru-Turn hooks.
